Televised coverage procured in Denver and Phoenix Markets for Chinese New Year Celebration.

This past week, Ling and Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill celebrated New Year’s all over again with their annual push during Chinese New Year with this year marking the festive Year of the Dragon.  Celebrated and managed by PMA in all franchised locations in Scottsdale, Denver, Boise, Anchorage and sister restaurant Thaifoon in Salt Lake City, the franchise offered guests a delicious Feast of Fortune menu featuring more traditional fare. 

Tapped with PR duties for the event on short notice, our firm was able to secure two spots in the Phoenix market and one in Denver in addition to several write ups online covering the festivities from January 20-23rd.

Phoenix Marketing performs a multitude of marketing duties for the Ling and Louie’s franchise including branding, strategic planning of multi-state promotions, public relations, online marketing, social media campaign management and email marketing, among others.

In a much needed celebration of the return of the Utah Jazz to the Gateway Center this holiday season, PMA client, Thaifoon Taste of Asia in Salt Lake City made an appearance on local CBS affiliate, KUTV Channel 2 to demonstrate a special off-menu dish.

Makayla Denton from Thaifoon hit the noon news show to discuss the ending of the NBA lockout and demonstrate the preparation of their Blackened Ahi Tuna Sliders with Garlic Parmesan fries–on special every Jazz home game for $10.99.  Phoenix Marketing Associates performs online marketing, email marketing and social media campaign management for Thaifoon.

Famed Tryst Café takes honors as “Best New Restaurant” by Phoenix Magazine.

New social media marketing initiatives prove their worth by dramatically increasing Facebook “likes” while inducing restaurant visits.

Phoenix, AZ—September 20, 2011—Phoenix Marketing Associates, LLC has recently introduced a unique social media strategy to their growing base of restaurant and hospitality clients which has produced increases of up to 300% in the number of Facebook page likes.

As more and more restaurants are seeing the true value of a Facebook “like”– as evidenced by the billions of dollars that Fortune 500 companies like McDonalds, Olive Garden and Applebees routinely spend, there is a core question which repeatedly comes up:  How do we increase our page likes?

The answer and focus of Phoenix Marketing’s strategy, entitled “like only campaigns” which empowers restaurants with even the most modest budgets is a three step process:

  1. The offer
  2. The conversion
  3. Fulfillment

Phoenix Marketing first works with their clients to develop an offer which is strong enough to induce visitors to like their page.  In most cases, the value is under $10.00 which is a small price to pay for the benefits derived.  Second and utilizing Facebook’s programming capabilities, Phoenix Marketing custom codes a “welcome page” which details the offer and induces the “like.”  Upon clicking the “like” button, the custom coded welcome page transforms into a transition page which thanks the guest for liking the page and presents a coupon which can be printed out for fulfillment in the restaurant.

This process accomplishes two goals:  1.The restaurant secures a “like,” and 2. It gives the user a reason to visit the restaurant.

The key to the success of this campaign is dependent on driving targeted traffic to the new Facebook welcome page.  This can be accomplished through a paid ad campaign, via Twitter, or through a well messaged and executed email marketing campaign which has produced the best results.  Phoenix Marketing’s client, Yogurtology, with three locations in Phoenix was the benefactor of this strategy and increased page likes from 330 to over 1,100 targeted “likes” in only a few months.  Phoenix Marketing works with several Phoenix based clients as well as restaurants in five different states.

Mama Gina’s Pizzeria recently made an appearance on the popular Sonoran Living Live television show on ABC 15.  Mama Gina’s was given two segments in which they demonstrated two of their popular, yet easy to make at home dishes.  In tune with the upcoming Cardinals football season, and given the fact that they are located in Westgate, owner, Sami Khnanisho demonstrated an easy game day dish:  The Breakfast Stromboli

Using Coupons in Social Media and The Power of Suggestion

Our social media specialists are at it again! In this example, we demonstrate how we use coupons to incentivize Facebook “likes” through Twitter in this example of our Salt Lake City based client, Thaifoon Taste of Asia.

The interaction on Twitter begins when our social media specialist spots this Tweet:

Knowing that our client, Thaifoon – Taste of Asia, offers a variety of salads, our social media specialist selects one that sounds particularly yummy and responds to @brianKlepper by Tweeting:

Sensing an opportunity, our social media specialist takes it a step further. She knows that Phoenix Marketing Associates has developed a “like-only” campaign for Thaifoon which involved designing this graphic to increase Facebook likes:

This is a win-win for our client and for brianKlepper. Our client has had an opportunity to build rapport with a potential customer and has gained a new Facebook fan. brianKlepper has been introduced to new a new restaurant that offers a dish that sounds appealing, gotten a coupon for free lettuce wraps and can even print out a coupon for an additional $10 off his visit!

Below is a screen shot example of our social media specialist, Amy Kundinger at work on the Sami’s Gyros campaign. By examining from the bottom-up, you’ll see the power of Twitter’s real time interaction at play on June 29, 2011. That morning, Amy tweeted out a typical lunch special from Sami’s Gyros which detailed the offering and directed followers to Sami’s Facebook account where they would see an image of the special. We use this technique a lot as you have the opportunity to expose the Twitter follower to your Facebook page as well and potentially gain a page like out of it.

Twitter follower “dimajanation” inquires about the special, Amy responds by elaborating on the special, demonstrating intimate knowledge of Sami’s menu, and “dimajanation” responds back with “awesome” since his question was answered.

That afternoon, “dimajanation” responds back, thanks us for the information and reaffirms that he did indeed visit Sami’s Gyros and had a fantastic guest experience.

Engaged three months ago to participate on the ALS Arizona Bite Nite committee,  Jason Jantzen, President of Phoenix Marketing Associates and staff were also asked to perform the social media management duties for the ALS Association leading up to Bite Nite 2011.

The event featured five of the Valley’s top restaurants including client, Ling and Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill, 5th and Wine, Cien Agaves, Wildfish Seafood Grill and Humble Pie.  All restaurants were required to provide the 400+ attendees with an appetizer, entrée, drink and dessert which were to be voted on and a champion determined.  At the end of the evening, Ling and Louie’s took home the title belt.

It was a great event for Ling and Louie’s having received several radio and print spots leading up to the event in addition to the championship belt.

Additionally, we got our “Top Doc 2011” client engaged in the event as well as he agreed to donate a $3,450 Botox Bonanza item to the live auction with all proceeds benefitting the ALS Association.  Dr. Bass also received some great exposure in the form of social media marketing leading up to Bite Nite, signage at the event and a nice admission into the evening’s program.

For all three clients, our firm aided in the overall promotion of the event through traditional PR, securing a TV spot on ABC 15’s Sonoran Living as well as an extensive social media campaign.
