Local Yogurtology franchisees takes cause to heart; provide incentive to community to replace old smoke alarms.

Phoenix, AZ—October 7, 2011— Jim and Mindi Osborn, owners of three Valley Yogurtology locations and long time supporters of the Phoenix Fire Department’s annual smoke alarm walk have announced a program which incentivizes the community to change out their old smoke alarm while catering to sweet tooths everywhere.

This Saturday, October 8th, bring your old smoke detector to the participating Kierland Village Center, Shea Scottsdale Center and Scottsdale Fashion Square locations along with your receipt of a newly purchased smoke alarm and receive a free cup of Yogurtology frozen yogurt.  Offer good at these locations only.

The annual smoke alarm walk has been very close to the hearts of the Osborn’s since 2005 when they tragically lost their son, T.J. in an apartment fire.  The senseless loss was due to the lack of a working smoke alarm in the apartment which also claimed the lives of two other individuals.

The event at the three Yogurtology locations coincides with the Phoenix Fire Department’s efforts this Saturday where uniformed firemen and volunteers will walk door to door through Valley neighborhoods educating residents on the dangers of fire and installing new smoke alarms free of charge.  To date, the collective efforts of the Phoenix Fire Department and the Osborn’s have resulted in nearly 8,000 new smoke alarm installations.

“We’re very grateful to be partnering with the Osborn’s and Yogurtology for this important event–their efforts will truly raise awareness within the community which is key to the success of our annual smoke alarm walk,” explained Captain Lisa Jones of the Phoenix Fire Department.

“We’re honored to have worked with Mayor Gordon’s office and the Phoenix Fire Department for six years now and hope our efforts pay dividends in raising awareness of the importance of replacing old smoke alarms,” explained Jim Osborn.

Residents wishing to participate are encouraged to visit the following locations on October 8th:

Kierland Village Center                                              Shea Scottsdale Center

PMA is thrilled to announce that our client, Tryst Cafe has been named a New Times Best of Phoenix winner in  two categories:  Best breakfast in N. Phoenix and Best use of green beans!

Tryst Cafe burst onto the scene late last year and has been an immediate hit with the foodie crowd because of their fresh, organic fare, unique menu and dedication to providing quality meals you can’t get anywhere else.  Undoubtedly, their Hawaiian Breakfast menu item played a large role in putting them over the top–a must try!

Phoenix Marketing Associates currently performs several services for Tryst Cafe including social media campaign management and public relations duties–you can view a recent spot procured on Sonoran Living Live here.

New social media marketing initiatives prove their worth by dramatically increasing Facebook “likes” while inducing restaurant visits.

Phoenix, AZ—September 20, 2011—Phoenix Marketing Associates, LLC has recently introduced a unique social media strategy to their growing base of restaurant and hospitality clients which has produced increases of up to 300% in the number of Facebook page likes.

As more and more restaurants are seeing the true value of a Facebook “like”– as evidenced by the billions of dollars that Fortune 500 companies like McDonalds, Olive Garden and Applebees routinely spend, there is a core question which repeatedly comes up:  How do we increase our page likes?

The answer and focus of Phoenix Marketing’s strategy, entitled “like only campaigns” which empowers restaurants with even the most modest budgets is a three step process:

  1. The offer
  2. The conversion
  3. Fulfillment

Phoenix Marketing first works with their clients to develop an offer which is strong enough to induce visitors to like their page.  In most cases, the value is under $10.00 which is a small price to pay for the benefits derived.  Second and utilizing Facebook’s programming capabilities, Phoenix Marketing custom codes a “welcome page” which details the offer and induces the “like.”  Upon clicking the “like” button, the custom coded welcome page transforms into a transition page which thanks the guest for liking the page and presents a coupon which can be printed out for fulfillment in the restaurant.

This process accomplishes two goals:  1.The restaurant secures a “like,” and 2. It gives the user a reason to visit the restaurant.

The key to the success of this campaign is dependent on driving targeted traffic to the new Facebook welcome page.  This can be accomplished through a paid ad campaign, via Twitter, or through a well messaged and executed email marketing campaign which has produced the best results.  Phoenix Marketing’s client, Yogurtology, with three locations in Phoenix was the benefactor of this strategy and increased page likes from 330 to over 1,100 targeted “likes” in only a few months.  Phoenix Marketing works with several Phoenix based clients as well as restaurants in five different states.

“We’ve gotten some outstanding results from our “like only” campaigns across the board and are equally excited about the new social media processes we currently have under development,” explained Jason Jantzen, President of Phoenix Marketing Associates.

Mama Gina’s Pizzeria recently made an appearance on the popular Sonoran Living Live television show on ABC 15.  Mama Gina’s was given two segments in which they demonstrated two of their popular, yet easy to make at home dishes.  In tune with the upcoming Cardinals football season, and given the fact that they are located in Westgate, owner, Sami Khnanisho demonstrated an easy game day dish:  The Breakfast Stromboli

Mama Gina’s is part of an ownership group which owns two other restaurants:  Tryst Cafe and Sami’s Gyros. Phoenix Marketing Associates performs all marketing and PR functions for the three locations.

Using Coupons in Social Media and The Power of Suggestion

Our social media specialists are at it again! In this example, we demonstrate how we use coupons to incentivize Facebook “likes” through Twitter in this example of our Salt Lake City based client, Thaifoon Taste of Asia.

The interaction on Twitter begins when our social media specialist spots this Tweet:

@brianKlepper: Eating hot food on a hot day is not such a hot idea. 10:40am, Jul 19 from Plume

Knowing that our client, Thaifoon – Taste of Asia, offers a variety of salads, our social media specialist selects one that sounds particularly yummy and responds to @brianKlepper by Tweeting:

@thaifoonutah: @brianklepper You need this! AHI TUNA SALAD- ahi w/ greens, carrots, tomatoes, red peppers, cilantro, ginger, miso-ginger vinaigrette. 10:49am, Jul 19 from HootSuite

This enticing description of the Ahi Tuna Salad catches brianklepper’s eye, so he Tweets back

@brianKlepper: @thaifoonutah sounds nice, refreshing and light for a summer day. Thanks! 10:56am, Jul 19 from Plume

Sensing an opportunity, our social media specialist takes it a step further. She knows that Phoenix Marketing Associates has developed a “like-only” campaign for Thaifoon which involved designing this graphic to increase Facebook likes:

The graphic appears to people who go to Thaifoon’s Facebook page but are not yet fans of the  page.  Once they click “like”, they get this coupon:

Since brianKlepper has already shown interest in one of Thaifoon’s dishes, our social media  specialist decides to try to entice him to come in to try the salad she mentioned earlier by offering him an incentive.

thaifoonutah Jul 19, 12:24pm via HootSuite

@brianKlepper You bet! If you want free lettuce wraps & a $10 off coupon, “like” our FB pg then scroll to see coupon! http://ow.ly/5IncW

This is a win-win for our client and for brianKlepper. Our client has had an opportunity to build rapport with a potential customer and has gained a new Facebook fan. brianKlepper has been introduced to new a new restaurant that offers a dish that sounds appealing, gotten a coupon for free lettuce wraps and can even print out a coupon for an additional $10 off his visit!

Ah, the power of social media!

The following details real time Twitter conversations between followers and our social media specialists:

The FourSquare Intervention

“The FourSquare Intervention” is a move that can be made when someone on our Twitter feed checks in on FourSquare. It starts something like this:

TIR_Prez: I’m at Subway (818 W Broadway Rd, Priest Dr, Tempe) http://4sq.com/nofEz1

We notice that TIR_Prez is checking in at a restaurant—there’s only one way for our client, Sami’s Gyros, to deal with this misstep by TIR_Prez:

samisgyros: @tir_prez Ah, man, you should have come to @samisgyros and gotten one of these! http://ow.ly/i/dY5o

Noting that TIR_Prez had checked in at Subway, we counter with an irresistible photo of Sami’s Chicago Original Cheeseburger. As we suspected, TIR_Prez falls victim to our prey and responds:

TIR_Prez: @samisgyros Chicago favorites?! Enough said :) 5:24pm, Jul 06 from Twitter for iPhone

To further entice the already interested TIR_Prez, we offer another mouthwatering picture of something on the menu we guess he might like:

samisgyros: @tir_prez How’s this look for a Chicago Favorite? http://ow.ly/i/e0o1 9:32am, Jul 07 from HootSuite

This hooks TIR_Pres. His craving now uncontrollable, he asks:

TIR_Prez: @samisgyros where r u guys located? 12:23pm, Jul 07 from Twitter for iPhone

We’ve got him!

samisgyros: @tir_prez Does this help? http://ow.ly/5z9Z3 12:30pm, Jul 07 from HootSuite

Having posted a link to Sami’s Gyros site that shows an aerial shot of the location, TIR_Pres now has lunch plans:

TIR_Prez: @samisgyros very much lol I have 2 quick appts then i am gonna stop by and eat 12:32pm, Jul 07 from Twitter for iPhone

The Recommendation

“The Recommendation” is made possible by the fact that Phoenix Marketing Associates’ social media experts are on the job, monitoring our clients’ accounts, during the whole work day.

“The Recommendation” starts when one of our social media experts notices that someone on our Twitter feeds has Tweeted about looking for a product or service that one of our clients offers:

RielDeal: Hey #glutenfree friends: know a dinner meeting spot that is reasonable &near Scottsdale. Hv 2 find a place. first though nourish…others? 3:54pm, Jul 06 from Web

Because we have a client near Scottsdale who offers a great gluten free menu, we quickly reply with an invitation and a link to our client’s website:

trystcafe: @rieldeal Have you checked out our menu? Lots of amazing gluten free dishes & a charming setting! Would love 2 welcome u! http://ow.ly/5yZL0 9:37am, Jul 07 from HootSuite

This turns out to be a great connection because RielDeal has heard of our client, Tryst Café, but is not yet a regular customer:

RielDeal: @trystcafe Yes! I haven’t had the chance to stop in yet. For the meeting we are looking for something a bit south of where you are. TY! 9:48am, Jul 07 from Web

Unfortunatley, ReilDeal puts up a bit of a road block by mentioning that she was looking for something in a different area, but our social media expert tries to entice RealDeal by mentioning some particularly intriguing dishes that our client offers:

trystcafe: @rieldeal Well, darn. Hopefully we’ll see you soon anyway! Try our GF NATURALLY RAISED GRILLED CHICKEN, BEEF BURGER, PORTOBELLO & more! 12:12pm, Jul 07 from HootSuite

This suggestion is enough to change RielDeal’s mind!

RielDeal: @trystcafe yumm! ok friends, who wants do to #glutenfree meal (lunch or dinner)? it’s a bit north for me, but hear worth it! 12:25pm, Jul 07 from Web

Not only is RielDeal’s mind changed, but she now states that she “[hears it’s] worth it!” She is now setting up her meal with her friends with our client as her number one choice:

RielDeal 12:53pm via Web

@cesargamez @hiBrie @JessicaOnAWire @theGr8Alex what about @trystcafe? it is on tatum just south of deer valley rd!

Her friends are happy that RielDeal has found a place for them and respond:
